15.4.2015. Gateway Casino and Entertainment, one of the Canada’s premier gaming and entertainment operator announced today it will build a new premier, upscale casino and entertainment property in Edmonton Area District.
The project which will begins in the fall of 2015 with grand ceremony and is slated to be completed in the summer of 2016 is expected at it’s completion to create 200 new permanent jobs and an investment worth $32 million to the Edmonton economy. It was also reveal that in addition to the long term investment of the project, 450 persons per year of construction employment will be made.
The Grand Villa Casino, Edmonton, Gateway most premium brand will features a spectacular gaming floor with exciting entertainment and an array of dining and culinary option to suit any taste including their signature restaurant – Match Eatery and Public House.
The announcement ceremony which took place at the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce have in attendance a number of local leader and politician which includes Simon O’Byne (past chair, Edmonton Chamber of Commerce), Councillor Scott Mckeen (ward 6, City of Edmonton), Glenn Scott ( Senior VP, Katz Group) and Susan Green (Acting Chairman AGLC).
The publication on the company website make it known that Baccarat Casino – one of the casinos own and operated by the company – will close with the opening of the Grand Villa Casino, Edmonton. The 200 staffs of the Baccarat Casino will move to the new location. When fully operational the new Grand Villa, Edmonton will have approximate 400 employees.
