03.04.2015. Mr Jim Lightbody had been announced as the new President and CEO of the Kamloops base, government own gambling company: British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC). The board of directors of the organization announced this on 31st of March 2015.
Mr. Lightbody a visionary and hardworking leader was in the position as interim for fourteen months from January 2014 until he was confirmed as the substantial President and CEO.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree of the University of British Columbia with a major in Marketing. He is a member of Advisory Board of Thompson Rivers University School of Business and Economic. He is also volunteer Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British Columbia Sport Hall of Fame. He chairs the British Columbia Horse Racing Management Committee.
Prior to his appointment as the President and CEO of the BCLC – BC biggest operator of casinos and gaming facilities – he has held various management positions which include Vice President of Lottery Gaming and Vice President of Casino and Community Gaming. According to the statement from the company website Mr. Jim was said to have provided leadership direction in strategy, marketing and product development, as well as operational responsibility for provision of product, services and support for players and business partners.
Before he joined BCLC has worked and held a wide position of responsibilities in retail and hospitality industries which include but not limited to companies such as Procter and Gamble, Nabob Food and BC Hot House.
